We went to visit a high school friend of Steve's last Saturday. They live in Seattle and invited us over for the afternoon. Their home is lovely and the children got along well together. We decided to head for the park in between rain showers. They offered to show us the house they are building. This will be the view from their dining room windows someday. Not too shabby, I must say. I was both enamored with city life and eager to return to the 'burbs. I like the idea of walking to the market for ice cream or enjoying a fantastic view of downtown. On the other hand, the crazy traffic, narrow streets and absence of garages makes me hyperventilate. How can you live without a garage?! Where do you stack your rubbermaid bins full of stuff you can't possibly part with? It's funny that just 30 miles can make such a huge difference.
