Monkey Business

This is week 7 with the little mister. These jammies are just about the cutest thing ever. One of my grandmothers gave us these and I quickly slipped them on for his Sunday evening photo shoot. He is growing so fast, I'm afraid they won't fit very long. He doesn't have many interesting tricks yet: starting to coo and smile a little bit. He puts up with his brothers poking and prodding, getting in his face and making obnoxious noises. He really has no idea what he's in for once they figure out how to get their paws on him. Speaking of the brothers, they have developed a few skills this week. Luke started reading short little books this week, dazzling us with his literary talents. Very exciting! Meanwhile, Andy decided he might actually like to sit on the potty if it involved getting his parents' undivided attention. No significant achievements in that arena, but at least he didn't run screaming in the opposite direction. I just plunked down his preschool registration fee for the fall, so it looks like he might need to get with the potty training program.

Six Weeks

Little Mister is six weeks old today. The lack of sleep is catching up with us, yet he is rewarding us with genuine eye contact and the tiniest hint of a smile. He actually sleeps for 5 hours at a time, but tends to do all of that in the early and late evening. He saves the multiple wake ups for the early morning hours. Just to make life extra fun, Luke has decided to stop sleeping through the night. This little speed bump in his development has earned him a trip to the pediatric sleep specialist this week. We are desperate for some answers as he seems to be rather sleep deprived and we are tired of seeing his cute little face numerous times each night. Andy, on the other hand, sleeps like a champ. One out of three isn't bad, I suppose.

Just like that, he's 4 weeks old

Month One with Little Mister has gone by in a blur. He is doing very well, eating and sleeping in a manageable routine. Steve went back to work yesterday and Luke back to school today, so we are adjusting to the new normal. It's pouring down rain, so the big boys are having a hard time staying out of trouble in the afternoons. Most of the time, they are both quite helpful.

Sledding With the Cousins

Steve took the boys sledding with their cousins. I stayed home with the baby.
Luke all decked out in his snow gear, towing his new sled. Em is supervising...

This is Andy under all those layers. Poor kid suffered a spill and got a face full of slush. He actually got a little bit of frost bite on his cheeks. Brings back fond memories of my childhood...
