Baby Andrew Arrives!

Baby Andrew came along on a busy Friday afternoon in Puyallup, Washington. Labor was fast and furious, just 55 minutes from check-in to delivery. Our doctor had no idea he would be so big: 9 pounds, 4 ounces and 20 inches long. We were so thankful that he was healthy and we didn't have any complications. We stayed in the hospital for 24 hours and then headed home with our new bundle of joy. There was some concern about Luke's adjustment, but he seemed perfectly happy to have a baby in the house. He checked out his new brother and tried to give Andrew his pacifier right away. The adults in the house have not adjusted quite as easily. Wow! This 2 kid business is a lot of work.

Grandma Betsy comes to town

Grandma Betsy came from North Carolina to visit us and meet baby Andrew. I think Andrew is about 3 weeks old when these pictures were taken.

Birthday Party

We celebrated Mom's and Emily's birthdays at the LaRue house. The guest list included family and friends who seem like family. Of course, it wouldn't be a birthday party without a Costco birthday cake! It seems like just yesterday we were gathering around the Thanksgiving table, waiting for baby Emily to arrive. I can't believe 9 years have gone by already.

The Big Snowstorm

There was so much excitement over the storms we received: up to the minute news and weather reports. We only received about an inch in our yard and Luke was not impressed. I think he was a little concerned about the mittens. We insisted he dress warmly because it was unusually cold outside.

He wasn't very interested in snowballs or exploring the neighborhood, either. He came right back inside after just a few minutes of wandering around.

Growing Fast

Luke was eating dinner tonight and all of a sudden he folded his hands, bowed his head, mumbled some nonsense and said "amen". I asked him if he was praying for his food and he smiled and repeated the process several times. Too cute!

Andrew is growing so quickly, I can't believe he'll be 10 weeks old tomorrow. I was trying to capture a smile for the camera, but he decided to "talk" to me instead. He is sleeping for about 6 hours straight at night, which is wonderful. He continues to eat like a champ. Every day we are amazed by how much he consumes. Luke is doing very well as a big brother. He checks to make sure Andrew has his "binky" and loves to inform me when "baby cries".
